Corstorphine Crackdown! at Corstorphine Hill

Our annual endeavour to rid Edinburgh's greenspaces of the Balsam Beastie, the Sneaky Salmonberry and the Simply Awful Spirrea!

This predominantly woodland site is 76ha, where you will find mostly oak and birch. You will also see areas of open ground consisting of bare rock, and grassland. Whilst out exploring you may see foxes, badgers and buzzards. Look closely for nationally and regionally important flora like small balsam, lords and ladies, spring beauty and common spotted orchid.

If you can’t wait until the World Ceilidh Festival to get to Knockengorroch, we are hosting a volunteer ‘week and a bit’ and we’re looking for practical and creative enthusiastic people such as YOU to get involved in all kinds of jobs.

You don’t have to come for the whole period- just let us know when you can make it and we’ll see if we can fit you in!

The Free Market

Come to an afternoon market where everything is free! Bring along any unwanted but working stuff to donate to others, then look around and see if there is anything you want. We'll have labels so if any item has an interesting story you can write it down and let the new owner know. We'll have music and the cafe downstairs will serve tea, coffee & cake. Donations are welcome and any help looking after the place, keeping it clean and welcoming arrivals, would be great to!
